
Jorge E Fernandez
Jorge Fernandez graduated in 1986 with a BS in Materials Engineering from Simon Bolivar University (Venezuela), and later completed his Specialization in Materials Selection and Testing of Equipment from Central University of Venezuela. He is currently pursuing his Master in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
His professional career started as Project Engineer in the industry of industrial pipes and pressure vessels. Further, Jorge Fernandez climbed the ladder to several technical and administrative positions within the Venezuelan oil and petrochemical industry (Petroleos De Venezuela, S.A.) reaching the level of Technical Advisor for the departments of operations, projects, maintenance and materials with expertise in Fractography and Defectology in the Failure Analysis of Engineering Structures.
He has been member of professional associations like NACE International, American Welding Society (AWS), ASM International, as well as American Management Association (AMA)
Jorge has always applied his passion on new technologies in every aspect of the business. His understanding in computing area spread out from first generations languages to website design, VoIP and computer networks installations on Windows and Linux OS.
All this technical knowledge, added to his administrative abilities in areas like finance, materials handling, international purchasing operations and inventory planning, allow him to translate and evaluate operational situations into clear ideas, figures and realistic scenarios, which are key pieces for taking wise decisions for his companies and their clients.
Jorge Fernandez spends his leisure time at home with his lovely wife and business partner, Maria Antonietta Diaz, and their two kids. In addition, he is an avid digital photographer and enthusiastic reader of business and leadership subjects.
