Luis D. Ramirez – Director of GBS Strategies

 

Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar (Caracas, Venezuela) with postgraduate studies for Specialization in Maintenance Management from the University of Zulia (Maracaibo, Venezuela) and Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of South Carolina (USA). He has also studied marketing university extension, launching new products, organization and strategy, international negotiation and management of prestigious universities like Stanford, Wharton, Harvard, Michigan and Thunderbird. Recently he earned a Masters Certification in Business Process Management from University of San Francisco.

Professional Experience

He has 31 years of professional experience, in which he has held various technical and managerial positions with national responsibility in the Venezuelan oil industry (PDVSA). Similarly, he has expertise in marketing of finished and packaged products, as he was part of teams to define strategies for developing new markets in Latin America, Europe and the United States as well as to prepare a draft law for the release the oil derivatives market in Venezuela. In the last 15 years, he has focused on management consulting in business development, financial assessments, strategic planning, sales and marketing and business processes improvement. Currently, in addition to his duties as a business consultant and entrepreneur, Luis is Professor of Business at the University System Ana G. Mendez, South Florida and First Vice president of the Venezuelan American Chamber of Commerce, being the President of the Broward Chapter of this Chamber.

 

In business, he has been part of the founding and operating team of his own businesses, both franchised and independent in Venezuela and the United States. He has extensive experience in corporate planning, project evaluations and penetration strategies and market development and business.
