Jorge E Fernandez - Co-Fundador & Director de Operaciones

Since 1997, Jorge has served as COO for the company Gallium Incorporated, which originated GBS Group, that sells high-tech equipment, supplies, and unconventional materials for the oil industry in Latin America.

Professional Experience

Graduated in Materials Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar (1986, Venezuela), and specialize in Inspection Equipment and Materials Selection in the Central University of Venezuela (1997), Mr. Fernandez further earned a Master’s Degree of International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University (2011). He began his career in the manufacturing industry of piping and pressure equipment. Subsequently he held various staff and line positions for the Venezuelan oil industry (PDVSA) where he excelled as Technical Consultant for the functions of Operations, Projects, Maintenance and Materials. For over 10 years he specialized in implementing total quality assurance systems as well as in failure analysis of mechanical equipment. Is aware of international standards such as ISO, ASME, ASTM, NACE, DIN and AFNOR.

Jorge is noted for his passion for new technologies, which incorporates in all its activities. His expertise in the area of programming, from first-generation computer languages to web pages, and installation of computer networks on Windows platform rounded skills useful in modern industry.

This expertise, coupled with his administrative skills in the areas of material handling, international purchasing and inventory planning, allow him to translate and evaluate operational situations clear ideas, figures and realistic possibilities. All key elements in making good decisions in buying, selling and business consolidation.
